Chris Collins MIL MITI
French-English Translator

"The best language is always the one your client speaks"
Welcome to my website: no bells or whistles, but hopefully the information you need if you are looking for a technical translator from French to English.

Qualifications:
I passed the Institute of Linguists Diploma in Translation in 1994 with merit in two out of three papers and am a Member of both the
Institute of Linguists and the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. Basically, this means that I am fully qualified and have the bits of paper to prove it.

Experience:
I have been a freelance technical translator since 1995 and have translated more than 500,000 words in each of the past three years. I have yet to miss an agreed deadline.

Fields of Experience:
Automotive: I have been connected with the motor trade and industry since 1970 and make considerable efforts to keep abreast of new and coming developments.

Telecommunications: although I have no technical training in telecommunications I have built up considerable translating experience in this field.

Information Technology: I am well versed in computer-related subjects such as software manuals, etc.

Other fields: I also have experience in building, heating and photography, as well as a large fund of general and technical knowledge.
